Conferences and Journals

There are many conferences and journals serving the robotics community. Among other differences conference articles are often not reviewed by anyone other than the authors, while journal papers are usually peer-reviewed. Even if the journal is peer-reviewed there are many different levels of peer review and not all journals articles get thoroughly vetted. I get many emails advertising for journals and conferences that I have never heard from, and am suspect of their quality. In this listing I am only listing conferences and journals that I think are legit and of a high quality.

Even with respected journals it is often not possible to find out who peer-reviewed the article. robotsforroboticists.com will start accepting research papers for practical robotics that will then be peer-reviewed. The large difference between these papers and what is common in the field is that they can be any length (within reason) , they will be available for free on the blog which is well indexed by search engines, and the names or titles of the reviewer as well as their institution will be published with the paper. Please note that some of the links below are for a priors year conference and you may need to search to find the updated website. It should also be noted that many publications are in area specific journals/conferences (such as farming) and not in the main stream robotics ones, for example a robot that performs a surgery might be in a surgical/medical conference.
